Perfect age or perfect state of being?

What is the perfect age? “Well, it’s the age where I finally understand my freedom, and I finally understand that I am free to create, and it’s the age that I am at my most beautiful.” And we say, by whose standards? In other words, who gets to decide the perfect age?

And we say, rather than determining what the perfect age is, why not decide what the perfect state of being is—and then discover that you can find the perfect state of being at any age.

Wisdom comes from alignment, not age

“Wisdom does not come from age. It comes from alignment. You can be old and in the Vortex or Young and in the Vortex. But wisdom comes from in the Vortex, not age.”

– Abraham

Reminds me of something I learned, many years ago, during my under graduation in Psychology (Honors) and that is – “chronological age and mental age are two separate concepts”. Somebody could be 60 years old but still would not have learned much from life and there could be someone who is 20 years old and have the knowledge and understanding one would expect from a much older person. This is something which many of us have observed around us too.

Embrace your age with love

Old lady with camera - Tiago Muraro

“How old would you be, if you didn’t know how old you were?”

This question was asked by my late friend, Wayne Dyer. I believe it speaks volumes to how we think of our age. Culturally, we are bombarded with advertisements pertaining to our particular age. You are now X age, so you should be feeling a certain way. Why is it that when we turn a certain age we have to feel old, lethargic, unhappy and can’t move as much? Why is it so wrong to feel like you’re 20 when you’re 60?

Some would say it’s because that’s not mature. Well, dear ones, I say you can still be wise and have fun! That’s what life is all about. You can do the things you love to do when you’re young when you’re older. Wisdom doesn’t come from acting old. Wisdom is when we make our own decisions about what we believe in and sticking to what’s best for us. Not what someone else tells you, you need because you hit a certain age.

Let’s affirm: I am the perfect age. Each year is special and precious to me for I shall only live it once. Every year from infancy to old age is filled with wonders all its own. Just as childhood is very special, so is being elderly. I want to experience it all. I choose the thoughts that make me comfortable with growing older. I look forward to each new year as it unfolds before me. I love and appreciate my beautiful age!
