Forgiveness, ease and freedom

“Today I decided to forgive you. Not because you apologized, or because you acknowledged the pain that you caused me, but because my soul deserves peace.”

– Najwa Zebian

What is forgiveness? Forgiveness, in very simple words, is when you decide to let go of the pain and be the joyful, appreciative and loving person that you actually are. When you forgive, you are not saying that the act committed (or the series of acts committed) are justified or okay. They never will be.

When you forgive, you are letting go of all the anger, the pain and the resentment and thereby, allowing in the joy, the appreciation, the love that you so want to feel. Don’t you like it when you are in joy? Don’t you feel good when you find yourself appreciating things/people/places/experiences? Don’t you find love such a wonderful feeling? The answer to these questions is yes and you do that because that’s who you are, that’s who your inner self is. When you hold yourself in anger (however justified it may be), you are far away from your true inner self and you feel pain in that separation. You don’t like it but it’s so difficult to let go as the resentment feels so justified.

Yes, forgiveness can be difficult but living in anger, resentment, pain, hatred every time you think about it – isn’t that difficult too?

You may decide to continue the relationship or continue the relationship and also reach out for help or you may decide to either temporarily or permanently end the relationship and firstly get to a place where you feel safe … – whatever you choose as per what gives you the most relief (i.e. as per your path of least resistance which only you know), what is more important is what you feel within.

Forgiveness means letting go of the pain, the anger and the resentment in your heart and feeling the relief that you so much want to feel. Forgiveness means looking at the situation, whenever you feel ready to, in a way which makes you feel relief and therefore, closer to the ease you want to feel. Forgiveness is your gift to yourself.

“Forgive because you deserve it.”

― Abraham-Hicks

Forgiveness can come up many times in our unique and beautiful journeys as the day-to-day experiences that make the tapestry of our lives are of great significance to us. Through the life coaching work that I do with my clients and what I see around makes me feel that it can be of help to remind ourselves of its value.

In the situations that one feels the desire to think about it, usually it does not happen in one swoop. It can be felt in one go by some people in some situations but generally it’s a process based on one’s path of least resistance. Initiating forgiveness by keeping one’s path of least resistance in mind makes it easier.

Affirming, for everyone, more and more moments of letting go of the resistance and letting in of relief, of ease, of feeling better than earlier. I feel the year – “2020” signifies something on the lines of a version “2.0” of ourselves for many of us who are willing and ready to start the process of letting go of the struggle, the resistance, the pain and letting in of the relief, the fresh air, the song in our hearts….letting in of the feeling of being empowered and free.

Affirming for everyone a beautiful 2020 filled with moments of ease, peace and joy!

Deliberately allowing feel-good moments has value

“Satisfying relationships don’t bring alignment. Alignment brings satisfying relationships.

Do you see what must come first?”

___________________________________________________

You are not happy because you are living a good life. You are living a good life because you are happy. You allow your desires to manifest “easily” and “in their full potential” when you start reconnecting to your ability to feel relief, to feel better, to feel good, no matter what.

As you practice unconditional alignment/joy/feeling positive emotions predominantly and consistently, you reconnect to your freedom and power. Even for people who feel ecstasy on a rather regular basis, allowing feel-good moments is a practice. The good news is that as you practice, it does get easier. In this place of strength, you mostly feel emotions that you like (i.e. positive feeling emotions) and you allow the law of attraction to match you up with more positive feeling moments as the law of attraction states – “like attracts like” – what you are feeling attracts more to feel the same. The better it gets, the better it gets.

The law of attraction does not state that you feel positive all the time (negative emotions can be painful but they do have value as they are part of our inner guidance). Even if you can feel positive emotions 55% of the time on a daily basis, you would have made a substantial difference to your predominant and consistent vibrations/ feelings and hence to the kind of life experiences that manifest in your physical reality. We have the ability to feel the emotions that we want to feel much more than we give ourselves credit for.

Initially, it may require effort but it’s like learning a new software program or a new skill – initially it requires effort and as one goes along, it gets easier and easier. What helps us in this practice is knowing that we love feeling positive emotions. Anything that anyone wants – more money, starting a new venture, a promotion at work, a more loving relationship, bigger car, better house, health etc. is all because one believes that one will better in the having of it. It is that positive feeling that we are targeting because we love positive emotions. We love them because that is who we are – pure positive energy and we always feel the call of who we are when we choose to separate ourselves from it and we feel good when we reconnect to it.

Practicing the art of allowing positive emotions on a daily basis does have value.

_____________________________________________

Give yourself permission to stop looking for love in all the wrong places. You may have noticed that even those who love you can’t feel love for you all the time. When they are feeling good and focus on you, they feel love and appreciation. When they are not feeling good (which happens to all of us and that is okay…we are human) and focus on you, they feel negative emotion (could be irritation/ frustration/ anger etc.). They cannot love and appreciate you from a place where they are not feeling good.

Instead of looking at others, if you can look toward your source (some people call it soul, some call it inner being, some call it inner self, some call it infinite intelligence, some call it universe, some call it source energy – all are referring to the non-physical part of you – the part you can’t see but you can feel – the part which is the essence of who you are – pure, positive energy) who is always loving and adoring you, no matter what, you will feel the constant stream of well-being and love flowing toward you at all times.

“The universe knows me, and the universe adores me.

If you will allow it, you will feel the love that flows to you and through you. You are always see, always understood – and always loved.”

– Abraham Hicks

How do you connect to this stream of well-being which is always flowing to you? When you follow your bliss, when you do what makes your heart sing, when you take out the time to focus in a way which makes you feel relief, when you appreciate things which are easy for you to appreciate, when you do what makes you feel good – in all these moments, you are connected to your source energy, to who you really are. You are pure positive energy and that is why you love feeling positive emotions – that is your essence, that is who you truly are.

I would like to add here that negative emotions do have value. They let you know that the way you are focused on a topic is different from the way your inner being is focused on the same topic. Your inner being feels well-being always and when you do not (you may have reasons for feeling the negative emotion that you are feeling and therefore, you get to be right but you do not get to be happy…and happy is what you want to feel), you feel negative emotion. Negative emotions are our indicator that we have pinched ourselves off from the stream of well-being ever flowing to us. We can choose to focus in a way which makes us feel either the same as our inner being or in the vicinity of it. Positive and negative emotions are part of the guidance we were born with – our manual. Positive emotions let you know that you and your inner being are aligned – focused in the same way. Negative emotions let you know that you and your inner being are not aligned. The good news is that you can focus in a different way when feeling negative emotion in order to feel the positive emotion that you want to feel.

Why would we want to change our focus from a negative feeling one to a positive feeling one? Because till the time we do not align with our inner being, we will not feel the relief we so much want to feel. Our inner being will not come where we are (someone has got to hold the light). So, if we want to feel positive emotions, we can consider focusing on better feeling thoughts (either on the same topic or on any other topic which is easy for us to appreciate). It’s a moment to moment choice that we make on an everyday basis. Feeling good is not like a college degree that once we have it, it’s ours forever. It’s a choice we make every day throughout the day.

Why do we want to feel positive emotion? Because that is who we are. Try feeling negative emotions for some time, you will not like that feeling. Negative emotions have value but you do not like feeling them because that is not who you are. Try feeling positive emotions and you love it because that is who you are. Anything that you want – a more nurturing relationship, more money, better health, a bigger house, a great business, a great career etc. is all because you believe you will feel better in the having of it. It is that positive emotion that you are targeting. You love feeling positive emotions because that is who you are – pure positive energy.

Baby steps are all it takes to feel better from where you are. The suggestion is to kind and gentle with yourself on this journey. As you feel better a little more every day, you start allowing feel-good moments more often. You are aligned with who you are more often. The law of attraction is not saying that you feel good all the time every day but even if you can feel good 55% of the time on a consistent everyday basis, you would have managed to achieve a substantial change in your vibrations and hence, of what manifests in your life.

From this place of strength, you allow the law of attraction to match you “easily” with life experiences that make you feel even more positive, with all that you desire – whether it be in terms of the kind of people you like, the financial prosperity you want, the health that you want etc. You feel empowered and strengthen your connection with your worthiness.  You start loving life and loving yourself.

The law of attraction states “like attracts like” – i.e. what you are feeling attracts more to feel the same. When you are predominantly and consistently feeling good (or in other words, you are predominantly and consistently aligned with who you are), you allow the law of attraction to match you with more that makes you feel even more good. You start deliberating, predominantly and consistently allowing the life experiences that you want in your life. Rather than a “facer of your life”, you become the “creator of your life” – the way you intended to be when you came in this time-space-reality.

Cherish and love yourself

“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are”

– Joseph Campbell

______________________________________________________________

Dr. Wayne Dyer once said, “You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being – not because anybody says so, not because you’re successful, not because you make a lot of money – but because you decide to believe it and for no other reason.”

You are worthy because you exist 🙂. You are enough just the way you. You are worthy just the way you.

Yes, there are people who judge you but if you look, you will see that they are people who are not feeling good (even before they met you that day) and are therefore, disconnected from who they are because of which they can’t love themselves (in the first place) and you, unconditionally at all times. Someone who is connected to his source (or inner being or inner self or soul or infinite intelligence etc. – people may call it different things but they are referring essentially to the pure positive non-physical part of us) predominantly and consistently feels good predominantly and consistently and therefore is able to love and appreciate himself and others predominantly and consistently. When you are feeling positive emotion, you want to appreciate, you want to compliment, you want to smile. When you are feeling negative emotion (it could range from irritation, frustration, being overwhelmed to anger, hatred, rage to powerlessness, despair, helplessness etc.), appreciation is something which does not occur to you because the vibration is so different from where you are at that time. It is the same with others too. We are all human.

Your source, on the other hand loves you and adores you all the time. There is this beautiful quote by Abraham Hicks – “If you were listening to the hypnotic voice of your Source, you’d be constantly hearing the drum beating that says, “You are loved, and you are worthy, and you are valued and life is supposed to be good for you. You are worthy, you are valued, you are loved and life is supposed to be good for you.”

You may want to choose as to whether you would like to listen to the people who are sometimes connected and sometimes disconnected (and therefore, sometimes approving of others and sometimes disapproving of others) or to your source (which is always there within you loving you and adoring you). You can get some glimpses of approval from others here and there and even though it does feel good when it happens, if you get addicted to approval from others (who are fickle and it’s okay…we are all human), you are giving up something really important for something which can be at best temporary. You always have a choice.

So, if you decide to listen to your source, how can you “feel” it? You can when you are thinking thoughts that make you feel relief, which make you feel better, which make you feel good, you are feeling the same feeling as that of your source. Your source is pure positive energy (and that is why you love feeling positive emotions because that is your essence) and when you both are feeling the same, you are connected.

Just want to add here that sometimes, many people judge themselves for feeling negative emotions and nothing will take you further from your source than judging yourself. Whenever you will judge yourself, you will always feel the punch in your gut (emotionally). Even though negative emotions are painful, they do have value. Positive and negative emotions are part of your inner guidance. Whenever you feel negative emotion, that is an indicator that you are thinking thoughts which are separate from your inner being, from your source and you can (through the power of your own focus and willpower) whenever you feel ready to, pivot to better feeling thoughts. Distraction can be extremely powerful in this. You can distract yourself to topics which are easy for you to appreciate and when feeling better and stronger, if you want to and feel ready to, you can focus on the topic which was painful in a way which gives you relief. Chances are high that because of the new and improved vibrational place that you are in, you will be able to look at what was painful in a way which makes you feel better about it.

A question can arise here – if I love myself where I am, does that mean that I will never want more, that I will never grow? Does being happy with myself just the way I am mean that I will be static? Not at all. You will want more. That is your essence but you can be “happy on your way to more” or you can be “unhappy on your way to more”. The choice is yours. Whatever you will be feeling predominantly and consistently (not always but predominantly and consistently) on your journey will determine how much and how easily you get what you want. Sharing another profound quote by Abraham Hicks here who say that the best place to be in vibrationally – “I am satisfied where I am and eager for more”.

Living predominantly and consistently in alignment with your source, with who you are is an extremely powerful place to be in – you are feeling joy, free, worthy empowered, passionate, thrill, ease, love, appreciation more often and isn’t that what you would like? You are of so much more value to yourself and to anyone else you would want to be of value to from this place of strength.

Say yes to yourself!

lady with arms outstreched sunset pexels

“You can be a good person with a kind heart and still say no.”

– unknown.

____________________________________________________

Say yes to yourself. The greatest gift that you can give to yourself and to others is your happiness, is honoring the magnificent creation of life that you are, is genuinely appreciating and loving yourself (this is different from arrogance or vanity which are always from a place of fear as Louise Hay says), is supporting and nurturing yourself, is doing what gives you relief, is doing what makes your heart sing, is doing what puts a spring in your step, is doing what gives you joy and ease, is making your happiness a priority. From this place of feeling good, love and strength, you are of so much more value to yourself and to anyone else you would want to be of value to.

I would like to add here that only you know what you want to say no to and what you want to say yes to because only you know what feels the most easy to you or what feels the path of least resistance to you. There is no right or wrong here. The suggestion is to focus on what gives you relief, what soothes you, what make you feel better.

Sharing a beautiful Abraham Hicks video. It lends further clarity on feeling good. The video short (4 minutes), simple and profound.

Unconditionally loving yourself

“Because we cannot give what we do not have, loving ourselves is absolutely necessary before we can truly love anyone else.”

– Anita Moorjani

I have seen that when people feel a resonance with the above words, they also ask as to how can we love ourselves, what does loving ourselves look like, how does it play out? Therefore, am sharing this wonderful article by Louise Hay on how can we love ourselves –

12 Ways You Can Love Yourself Now

Learn helpful tips for self-love.

I have found that there is only one thing that heals every problem, and that is to love yourself. When people start to love themselves more each day, it’s amazing how their lives get better. They feel better. They get the jobs they want. They have the money they need. Their relationships either improve, or the negative ones dissolve and new ones begin.

Loving yourself is a wonderful adventure; it’s like learning to fly. Imagine if we all had the power to fly at will? How exciting it would be! Let’s begin to love ourselves now.

Here are 12 Commandments to help you learn how to love yourself:

  1. Stop All Criticism.

Criticism never changes a thing. Refuse to criticize yourself. Accept yourself exactly as you are. Everybody changes. When you criticize yourself, your changes are negative. When you approve of yourself, your changes are positive.

  1. Forgive Yourself.

Let the past go. You did the best you could at the time with the understanding, awareness, and knowledge that you had. Now you are growing and changing, and you will live life differently.

  1. Don’t Scare Yourself.

Stop terrorizing yourself with your thoughts. It’s a dreadful way to live. Find a mental image that gives you pleasure, and immediately switch your scary thought to a pleasure thought.

  1. Be Gentle and Kind and Patient.

Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you learn the new ways of thinking. Treat yourself as you would someone you really loved.

  1. Be Kind to Your Mind.

Self-hatred is only hating your own thoughts. Don’t hate yourself for having the thoughts. Gently change your thoughts.

  1. Praise Yourself.

Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing.

  1. Support Yourself.

Find ways to support yourself. Reach out to friends and allow them to help you. It is being strong to ask for help when you need it.

  1. Be Loving to Your Negatives.

Acknowledge that you created them to fulfill a need. Now you are finding new, positive ways to fulfill those needs. So lovingly release the old negative patterns.

  1. Take Care of Your Body.

Learn about nutrition. What kind of fuel does your body need in order to have optimum energy and vitality? Learn about exercise. What kind of exercise do you enjoy? Cherish and revere the temple you live in.

  1. Do Mirror Work.

Look into your eyes often. Express this growing sense of love you have for yourself. Forgive yourself while looking into the mirror. Talk to your parents while looking into the mirror. Forgive them, too. At least once a day, say, I love you, I really love you!

  1. Love Yourself . . . Do It Now.

Don’t wait until you get well, or lose the weight, or get the new job, or find the new relationship. Begin now—and do the best you can.

  1. Have Fun.

Remember the things that gave you joy as a child. Incorporate them into your life now. Find a way to have fun with everything you do. Let yourself express the joy of living. Smile. Laugh. Rejoice, and the Universe rejoices with you!

Let’s affirm: I love myself just the way I am.

________________________________

If we love ourselves and therefore are happy appreciating the magnificent creation of life that we are, we find it easier to feel good and also to be of value to whoever we may want to be of value to. Loving ourselves is not the same as vanity or arrogance (that is not love, it’s always fear as Louise Hay says). Loving ourselves is genuinely appreciating the incredible beings that we are.

Joseph Campbell said – “follow your bliss” and Abraham call these words as the most profound words ever uttered. I agree. When you follow your bliss, you feel good and then it’s easier to love yourself and when you love yourself, it’s easier to follow your bliss. A never ending cycle of well-being 🙂

Wisdom comes from alignment, not age

“Wisdom does not come from age. It comes from alignment. You can be old and in the Vortex or Young and in the Vortex. But wisdom comes from in the Vortex, not age.”

Reminds me of something I learned, many years ago, during my under graduation in Psychology (Honors) and that is – “chronological age and mental age are two separate concepts”. Somebody could be 60 years old but still would not have learned much from life and there could be someone who is 20 years old and have the knowledge and understanding one would expect from a much older person. This is something which many of us have observed around us too.

Don’t take action if you feel fear

Caleb George - unsplash

“There are those that say, if you do the uncomfortable thing long enough, it will become comfortable.

But we are really not encouragers of that.

We are encouragers of coming into alignment, and then taking the action. We are encouragers always of getting rid of the fear; we would never want you to keep doing things that you feel fearful about.

And maybe the path of least resistance is just not get on the horse. Maybe the path of least resistance is to get on a different horse—but we would never move forward in fear.”

– Abraham

You have the power

lady eyes closed- Eli DeFaria - unsplash

“This disease that I have is genetic…. It’s in my genes…. I am doomed!” …

You may have heard statements like this. A study at the university of California shows just the opposite i.e. you can change your genes. You do have the power. This is so empowering!

________________________________________________________________

Healthy lifestyle triggers genetic changes: study

– Will Dunham for Reuters.com

Comprehensive lifestyle changes including a better diet and more exercise can lead not only to a better physique, but also to swift and dramatic changes at the genetic level, U.S. researchers said on Monday.

In a small study, the researchers tracked 30 men with low-risk prostate cancer who decided against conventional medical treatment such as surgery and radiation or hormone therapy.

The men underwent three months of major lifestyle changes, including eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and soy products, moderate exercise such as walking for half an hour a day, and an hour of daily stress management methods such as meditation.

As expected, they lost weight, lowered their blood pressure and saw other health improvements. But the researchers found more profound changes when they compared prostate biopsies taken before and after the lifestyle changes.

After the three months, the men had changes in activity in about 500 genes — including 48 that were turned on and 453 genes that were turned off.

The activity of disease-preventing genes increased while a number of disease-promoting genes, including those involved in prostate cancer and breast cancer, shut down, according to the study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The research was led by Dr. Dean Ornish, head of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, California, and a well-known author advocating lifestyle changes to improve health.

“It’s an exciting finding because so often people say, ‘Oh, it’s all in my genes, what can I do?’ Well, it turns out you may be able to do a lot,” Ornish, who is also affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco, said in a telephone interview.

“‘In just three months, I can change hundreds of my genes simply by changing what I eat and how I live?’ That’s pretty exciting,” Ornish said. “The implications of our study are not limited to men with prostate cancer.”

Ornish said the men avoided conventional medical treatment for prostate cancer for reasons separate from the study. But in making that decision, they allowed the researchers to look at biopsies in people with cancer before and after lifestyle changes.

“It gave us the opportunity to have an ethical reason for doing repeat biopsies in just a three-month period because they needed that anyway to look at their clinical changes (in their prostate cancer),” Ornish said.
