There is power in alignment

Give yourself permission to stop looking for love in all the wrong places. You may have noticed that even those who love you can’t feel love for you all the time. When they are feeling good and focus on you, they feel love and appreciation. When they are not feeling good (which happens to all of us and that is okay…we are human) and focus on you, they feel negative emotion (could be irritation/ frustration/ anger etc.). They cannot love and appreciate you from a place where they are not feeling good.

Instead of looking at others, if you can look toward your source (some people call it soul, some call it inner being, some call it inner self, some call it infinite intelligence, some call it universe, some call it source energy – all are referring to the non-physical part of you – the part you can’t see but you can feel – the part which is the essence of who you are – pure, positive energy) who is always loving and adoring you, no matter what, you will feel the constant stream of well-being and love flowing toward you at all times.

How do you connect to this stream of well-being which is always flowing to you? When you follow your bliss, when you do what makes your heart sing, when you take out the time to focus in a way which makes you feel relief, when you appreciate things which are easy for you to appreciate, when you do what makes you feel good – in all these moments, you are connected to your source energy, to who you really are. You are pure positive energy and that is why you love feeling positive emotions – that is your essence, that is who you truly are.

I would like to add here that negative emotions do have value. They let you know that the way you are focused on a topic is different from the way your inner being is focused on the same topic. Your inner being feels well-being always and when you do not (you may have reasons for feeling the negative emotion that you are feeling and therefore, you get to be right but you do not get to be happy…and happy is what you want to feel), you feel negative emotion. Negative emotions are our indicator that we have pinched ourselves off from the stream of well-being ever flowing to us. We can choose to focus in a way which makes us feel either the same as our inner being or in the vicinity of it. Positive and negative emotions are part of the guidance we were born with – our manual. Positive emotions let you know that you and your inner being are aligned – focused in the same way. Negative emotions let you know that you and your inner being are not aligned. The good news is that you can focus in a different way when feeling negative emotion in order to feel the positive emotion that you want to feel.

Why would we want to change our focus from a negative feeling one to a positive feeling one? Because till the time we do not align with our inner being, we will not feel the relief we so much want to feel. Our inner being will not come where we are (someone has got to hold the light). So, if we want to feel positive emotions, we can consider focusing on better feeling thoughts (either on the same topic or on any other topic which is easy for us to appreciate). It’s a moment to moment choice that we make on an everyday basis. Feeling good is not like a college degree that once we have it, it’s ours forever. It’s a choice we make every day throughout the day.

Why do we want to feel positive emotion? Because that is who we are. Try feeling negative emotions for some time, you will not like that feeling. Negative emotions have value but you do not like feeling them because that is not who you are. Try feeling positive emotions and you love it because that is who you are. Anything that you want – a more nurturing relationship, more money, better health, a bigger house, a great business, a great career etc. is all because you believe you will feel better in the having of it. It is that positive emotion that you are targeting. You love feeling positive emotions because that is who you are – pure positive energy.

Baby steps are all it takes to feel better from where you are. The suggestion is to kind and gentle with yourself on this journey. As you feel better a little more every day, you start allowing feel-good moments more often. You are aligned with who you are more often. The law of attraction is not saying that you feel good all the time every day but even if you can feel good 55% of the time on a consistent everyday basis, you would have managed to achieve a substantial change in your vibrations and hence, of what manifests in your life.

From this place of strength, you allow the law of attraction to match you “easily” with life experiences that make you feel even more positive, with all that you desire – whether it be in terms of the kind of people you like, the financial prosperity you want, the health that you want etc. You feel empowered and strengthen your connection with your worthiness.  You start loving life and loving yourself.

The law of attraction states “like attracts like” – i.e. what you are feeling attracts more to feel the same. When you are predominantly and consistently feeling good (or in other words, you are predominantly and consistently aligned with who you are), you allow the law of attraction to match you with more that makes you feel even more good. You start deliberating, predominantly and consistently allowing the life experiences that you want in your life. Rather than a “facer of your life”, you become the “creator of your life” – the way you intended to be when you came in this time-space-reality.

Say yes to yourself. The greatest gift that you can give to yourself and to others is your happiness, is honoring the magnificent creation of life that you are, is genuinely appreciating and loving yourself (this is different from arrogance or vanity which are always from a place of fear as Louise Hay says), is supporting and nurturing yourself, is doing what gives you relief, is doing what makes your heart sing, is doing what puts a spring in your step, is doing what gives you joy and ease, is making your happiness a priority. From this place of feeling good, love and strength, you are of so much more value to yourself and to anyone else you would want to be of value to.

I would like to add here that only you know what you want to say no to and what you want to say yes to because only you know what feels the most easy to you or what feels the path of least resistance to you. There is no right or wrong here. The suggestion is to focus on what gives you relief, what soothes you, what make you feel better.

You may have heard statements like this. A study at the university of California shows just the opposite i.e. you can change your genes. You do have the power. This is so empowering!

Healthy lifestyle triggers genetic changes: study

Comprehensive lifestyle changes including a better diet and more exercise can lead not only to a better physique, but also to swift and dramatic changes at the genetic level, U.S. researchers said on Monday.

In a small study, the researchers tracked 30 men with low-risk prostate cancer who decided against conventional medical treatment such as surgery and radiation or hormone therapy.

The men underwent three months of major lifestyle changes, including eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and soy products, moderate exercise such as walking for half an hour a day, and an hour of daily stress management methods such as meditation.

As expected, they lost weight, lowered their blood pressure and saw other health improvements. But the researchers found more profound changes when they compared prostate biopsies taken before and after the lifestyle changes.

After the three months, the men had changes in activity in about 500 genes — including 48 that were turned on and 453 genes that were turned off.

The activity of disease-preventing genes increased while a number of disease-promoting genes, including those involved in prostate cancer and breast cancer, shut down, according to the study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The research was led by Dr. Dean Ornish, head of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, California, and a well-known author advocating lifestyle changes to improve health.

“It’s an exciting finding because so often people say, ‘Oh, it’s all in my genes, what can I do?’ Well, it turns out you may be able to do a lot,” Ornish, who is also affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco, said in a telephone interview.

“‘In just three months, I can change hundreds of my genes simply by changing what I eat and how I live?’ That’s pretty exciting,” Ornish said. “The implications of our study are not limited to men with prostate cancer.”

Ornish said the men avoided conventional medical treatment for prostate cancer for reasons separate from the study. But in making that decision, they allowed the researchers to look at biopsies in people with cancer before and after lifestyle changes.

“It gave us the opportunity to have an ethical reason for doing repeat biopsies in just a three-month period because they needed that anyway to look at their clinical changes (in their prostate cancer),” Ornish said.

Off course, the “inner work” is to reach a point wherein no matter what your physical reality is, you feel happy but if you are not able to feel happy while in your current physical reality, then are you supposed to tolerate your negative emotions till you wither away?

No! You can get some distance between that which pains you and you. In that time and space that you get, you can sharpen your focus till the time you are able to focus on any topic (even if it was painful to you earlier) and find something in it to feel better about it (it can be but need not be enthusiastically happy…. just feeling better is awesome too while on your path to feeling good about it) i.e. you achieve stability in your good feeling thoughts. As you do that, you reconnect to your invincibility, to your freedom. The power which creates worlds flows through you. In fact, it is you.

Yes, sometimes, because of the way we are focused on a situation, we cannot feel positive emotion. There is nothing wrong in it. We are human and we need to be easy on ourselves. Negative emotion always tells us that we have grown but have not gone ahead with our growth. Whenever we feel upto it, we can change the way we are focused on it and thereby taste true freedom – i.e. free to feel whatever emotion we want to feel irrespective of what is happening around us. Sometimes, choosing to distance oneself from what is painful helps in reaching this place of strength and therefore, is the path of least resistance (it need not be but sometimes, it is and only you know that by the way you feel about it). From this place of strength, we are of value to ourselves and to anyone else we may want to be of value to.

When you allow your power

You are extensions of Source Energy. And when you allow that pure Source Energy to flow through you, you are so bright and beautiful; your timing is good; and you feel vital and alive in your body. And as others see you, they wonder what your magic is. But it only seems like magic because it is experienced by so few. It isn’t magic. It is available to everyone. But you must allow your alignment.

Thankfully, there are ways to allow your alignment. When you are having a good time, when you are relaxing, when you are appreciating, when you are feeling good – you are allowing your alignment. As you do so predominantly and consistently on an everyday basis, you allow your alignment predominantly and consistently and isn’t that what you would want? Anything you want is because you believe that you will feel better in the having of it. You can feel better right now (even though you do not have it) through the power of your focus and then what you want has to come in your physical reality. It is law. It is the law of attraction.

You can have what you want through only action without working on your vibration but then the journey is arduous and what you get is just a minuscule portion of what you could have got had you aligned your energy first and then followed it up with the action inspired from that place of strength. Olympic athletes among other creators have long realized that until and unless they are in the flow, nothing flows. One of the processes they use to be in the zone is visualization – feeling their desire in their mind even though it has not manifested yet. If they can do it, you can too. The same energy is available to all of us ready to be accessed, if we would allow ourselves to access it.

The value of being selfish

Jerry: So, there’s nothing wrong with taking “the coward’s way out”?

Abraham: There are many people who override their own guidance system by trying to please others, and there are many people who will call you “selfish” or “cowardly” when you have the audacity to please yourself rather than them. Often others will call you “selfish” (because you are unwilling to yield to their own selfishness) without realizing the hypocrisy of their demand.

Sometimes, we are accused of teaching selfishness, and we admit that it is true because if you are not selfish enough to tend to your own vibration and therefore hold yourself in alignment with your source (and with-you-really-are), then you have nothing to give to another anyway. When others call you “selfish” or “cowardly,” their own vibrations are clearly out of balance, and a modification of your behavior will not bring them into balance.

And even if it does bring them into balance, it will be very temporary. After some time, they will again demand a modification of your behavior in order to feel good. As you continue doing so, you will do them a big disservice as you will teach them to depend on someone else for their happiness whereas they (just like you) have the ability to feel good by focusing on topics in a way which feels good (i.e. everyone can feel good on their own). You will also observe that as you continue modifying your behavior in order to make them happy, their demands keep increasing and as you keep meeting their increasing demands, you start resenting the very relationship you wanted to be of value to. Now you have nothing to give firstly to yourself and also to those that you wanted to give to, as you are now in a place of lack rather than a place of strength.

The only thing which is of value is to focus on good feeling thoughts yourself and when you are predominantly and consistently feeling good, the law of attraction will surround you with experiences who make you feel the same i.e. feel good. Usually, it happens that we feel when we are surrounded by experiences which make it easy for us to feel better. Yes, you do feel better easily if your reality is what you want it to be but the way you create your experiences is by first feeling good yourself even though the experiences you want have not manifested yet.

Thankfully, there are ways to feel good even if you are not living the reality you want. You can nap, you can take a walk next to nature, you can meditate, you can play with your child, you can have a relaxing warm bath, you can appreciate something which is easy for you to appreciate, you can talk to a supportive and trustworthy friend, you can indulge in a hobby etc. As you create more and more feel good moments through these general ways on an every day basis, you allow the law of attraction to match you up with the kind of experiences you want. That is when we start leveraging the power of the universe. That is when people look and say – “it’s a miracle” or that “she/he is lucky” but what you are doing is not unconscious creating; it is deliberate creation at its best. In addition, because now that you are deliberating creating, you can replicate the process in any area of your life wherein you want to change the results. It starts with being selfish enough to use any excuse in order to feel good predominantly and consistently, no matter what your reality is.

The law of attraction states “that which is like unto itself, is drawn” i.e. what you think and therefore feel, attracts more to feel the same. It’s a powerful law just like the law of gravity. We understand the law of gravity and use our knowledge about it to make our lives easier. We can do the same with the law of attraction too.

What are you creating?

In the early 20th century, scientists felt that mass and energy are closely linked. Albert Einstein gave the world the famous equation e = mc2, in which “e” stands for “energy,” “m” denotes “mass” and “c” is the speed of light.

This equation means energy and mass are interchangeable. Einstein realized that matter (i.e. mass) and energy are basically the same thing. In other words, matter is nothing but energy. That means all of us are energy including you and me. Anything which has mass is energy.

I want to take a minute to point out here that if we take any mass, at its basic level it is composed of atoms. If you take a human being, an animal or a table, all of them have mass (i.e. are matter) and at their sub atomic level, have protons, neutron and electrons. There is something very interesting about protons. Protons appear at random, stick around for a while and then vanish to reappear somewhere else and then again vanish. That means when you peek into an atom (of any mass), you will see a proton and then you will not see it. It appears and then disappears giving birth to the thought that you do not need something to create something (that means an effect does not always have to have a cause) or that conjuring something out of nothing is possible, at least for a short while.

Lets come back to energy. Energy is something we feel on an everyday basis. Even if we have never thought about energy, we know what it is. The sun’s energy is felt by us even though the sun is 93 millions miles away. We feel the energy of the wind. It is soft and gentle when a light cool breeze and wild when a tornado. When we stand on a beach and feel the waves, they are energy waves in water. In other words, water energy. We cannot see energy but we sure do feel it.

Our thoughts are also something which we cannot see but we can feel their energy. When we think some positive thoughts, we feel the emotions of hope, optimism, love, appreciation and these makes us feel good. When we think negative thoughts, we feel the emotions of hate, anger, fear, shame, guilt, resentment, revenge, despair or powerlessness and they make us feel negative. The energy of positive feelings and negative feelings is very different. We cannot see thoughts nor their energy but we sure can feel it.

Not only can we feel the energy but those around us can also. Have you met someone whose energy is so positive that just being around them made you feel better? And also, have you met someone whose energy was so negative that it sapped you of whatever energy you had before meeting them?

Another interesting thing about according to Einstein is that “energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.” So when there is positive or negative energy within us (because of our positive or negative feelings respectively), where does it go? Before affecting others (as written above), it affects our own body and therefore our lives. There are people who are thriving because of their consistent focus on seeing the positive side of things and there are people betraying themselves of their wellbeing by consistently focusing on the negative side of things. There is nothing right or wrong in either choice. Each one of us has a choice to live our lives the way we want to. The only question which one may want to ask is “are our choices serving us or not?”

Some people may say, “I have reasons to feel negative. I have evidence of things going wrong, I have proof, I have photographs, I have research etc”. Yes, when the physical reality is showing you what you do not want, it can be difficult to feel what you want to feel (i.e. feel good) but at the end of the day, the law of attraction states “like attracts like” – i.e. what you are feeling attracts more to feel the same. So, if you are predominantly feeling positive, you attract more to feel even more positive and if you are predominantly feeling negative, you attract more to feel negative. If you feel a little bit of positive and a little bit negative on an every day basis, what you get is also the same – i.e. a little bit of positive experiences and a little bit of negative experiences but if you want to reduce the negative experiences and increase the positive experiences, every time you find yourself thinking negative thoughts and therefore feeling negative, you may want to ask “what am I creating with these thoughts?” “What am I allowing the law of attraction to give me in my reality – experiences which will make me feel better (which is what I want to feel) or experiences which will make me feel negative?”

It may be an effort initially to change your predominant negative feelings to positive feelings because the law of attraction would have been giving you experiences to match up to your feelings (so if you have been allowing yourself to feel negative, you would have been getting more experiences to feel even more negative and will continue to do so till the time the momentum of your positive thoughts increase) and it will take a little time to change your physical reality but if you can continue to feel positive thoughts just for the sake of feeling good, you will enable the law of attraction to match you up with experiences which make you feel the same i.e. better. When you have had enough of feeling negative emotions and are desperately seeking relief, it will be easier for you to let go of the struggle within and start using any excuse to feel better. The question arises here that do we need to wait till we feel utterly exhausted with our negative emotions to start truly valuing good feeling thoughts? We need not wait and tolerate forever in order to start creating what we want. We always have a choice to start being the creators we intended to be at any point we choose.

The source within you, your inner being (or inner self or god or infinite intelligence or soul) feels only positive emotions – love, joy, freedom, empowered and appreciation. Your inner being loves and adores you. When you are feeling good, you are aligned to your inner being and when you are feeling negative, you are far away from what your inner being is feeling. You will always want to feel good as that is who you are, that is what your source is. Your emotions have value as they are an indicator of whether you are aligned or not to your inner being.

When someone praises you, you feel good as the source within you feels the same about you. When someone criticizes you, you feel bad because the source within you is still focused on how good you are but you are focusing on the criticism and hence feeling something which the source within you will never feel about you. Negative feelings are your indicator that you are not aligned to your source, that you are feeling something which your source does not feel. Whenever you are feeling negative, see that feeling for what it is indicating i.e. you are not feeling about that particular subject what the source within you feels for that subject. Once you become aware, all you need to do in order to feel better is to start focusing on something which is easy to appreciate and then you are in the vicinity of feeling what your source feels i.e. love, appreciation, joy, empowered and free. As you continue to focus on topics which are easy to appreciate for you, as you remember pleasant memories, as you imagine things the way you would like them to and feel good (i.e. as you daydream 🙂 ), as you indulge in activities which you like, as you talk to people you like, as you meditate – as you do any of these processes or any other to feel better, you start feeling incrementally better and finally you start feeling good and are now aligned to your source.

When you choose to focus on aligning with your inner being and therefore feeling good (or vice versa), you are not only feeling what you want to feel but you also allow the law of attraction to match you up with experiences which will make you feel even better. When you are feeling positive, you are moving in the direction of experiences which are a match to what you are feeling i.e. will make you feel even better and when you are feeling negative, you are moving in the direction of what will make you feel even more negative. The choice is always yours.

It’s an incremental process. The first day, you might be able to distract yourself from your negative feeling thoughts and focus on positive feeling thoughts and therefore, feel better only for 30 seconds in the entire 24 hours; the second day, it could be 45 seconds; the second week, it would be one minute daily; the third week, it could be five minutes daily and so on. At times, you might find that you have allowed yourself to feel positive much less than the earlier day. It’s okay. You can always start feeling better from the next day for a longer duration. You never miss the bus. Use any excuse to feel better. It could be a walk next to nature or listening to soothing music or talking to a supportive and trustworthy friend or meditating or dancing or travelling or writing a journal of all the positive things in your life or playing with your children etc. Choose whatever process resonates with you.

This process of feeling better will depend on two things – what is happening within you and how committed you are to thinking good feelings thoughts consciously and consistently on an everyday basis. The suggestion is that, initially, create these feel good moments just for the relief you so much want from the negative thoughts and just to feel that feeling which you want so much. Even if you can’t feel good immediately, it’s fine. In fact chances are that you would not be able to feel good immediately as the momentum of the negative thoughts will need to be replaced by the momentum of the positive thoughts. The changes will be small. As long as you feel a little better than earlier, you are moving in the direction of feeling what you want to feel. As your reality starts to incrementally change, it will be easier for you to predominantly feel good as now your reality will be easier to appreciate.

We want what we want because we believe that in the having of it, we will feel better. Its that feeling (feeling better) which we are targeting. If we can through any excuse feel better in the first place, then what we want will come to us easily. Why swim upstream when you can swim downstream and get what you want? There are people who have got what they wanted but in the journey has been so arduous for them that its taken a heavy toll on their lives (sometimes, their health has suffered, sometimes their relationships, sometimes their abundance and sometimes – all of these have suffered). By consciously and consistently creating more feel good moments for us, we start leveraging the power of the universe and as Abraham say “one who is aligned is more powerful than millions who are not”. Not only do we feel better but we allow the law of attraction to get us more to feel even better.

From this place of feeling strong, we are of value to ourselves and also to those whom we may want to be of value to. From this place of strength rather than lack, our action is so much more complete and whole.
