Reading some of Muhammad Ali’s quotes and of course, looking at his life, it’s evident that he knew the secret to life, in his own unique, individual way….
“If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it – then I can achieve it.”
“I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.”
“It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.”
“I know where I’m going and I know the truth, and I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I’m free to be what I want.”
“The man who has no imagination has no wings.”
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
“Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”
“To be a great champion you must believe you are the best. If you’re not, pretend you are.”
“It’s hard to be humble when you’re as great as I am.”
“It’s lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believed in myself.”
Some people may ask that if he knew the secret to get what he wanted, why did he continue having challenges? Well, just because you are a master creator (of your life) does not mean that you will cease to have something to go beyond. Rather than challenges, we can call them questions to which one wants answers. If life does not cause questions to be evoked within you, what will your growth and expansion be as the creator you are, as the creator that you intended to be when you came forth in this time-space reality? Yes, it does get easier as one practices allowing what one wants but absence of the contrast between what one wants and does not want will never be. One can reduce the contrast in one’s life but not eliminate it as it has value in the way it evokes desires within you which you then choose to allow (by feeling good or not allow by feeling negative).
A master tennis player will not want to play with an amateur even though he can easily defeat the amateur. The master tennis player would want to play with someone at his level of the game. The master tennis player does want to win but he also wants to feel the agility and flexibility of his body, the spatial intelligence in his being, the strength in his muscles etc. He plays not just for winning but for the pure joy of the game, for the pure joy of the journey. We all area master creators of our life and the challenges or questions or invitations that we have in our lives helps us take us beyond where we were (before the questions arose). They are our excuses to ride this river of life. Knowing what you do not want makes you aware of what you do want and when you come into alignment with what you want, you feel good for some time…and then you again see something which you do not want which makes you aware of what you do want and then as you align with your desire and manifest it in your physical reality, you feel good for some time…and then again you see something that you do not want and it goes on. This growth and expansion is eternal. There are many of us who get tired of this expansion and want to rest. After some time of rest, we start getting bored and then we want some more expansion because at an unconscious level, at a visceral level, we know that expansion is the order of the day. Thankfully, we can all choose just how much of the adventure we want. Some want it more and some less.
There are those who suggest not having desires. They do not know how to manifest what they want and therefore, what they want is painful to them and therefore, they suggest not having desires to begin with. Once you know how to manifest your desires and also that this process of having desires is inevitable and eternal, you start enjoying the journey called life. You start being the creator you intended to be.
There will always be something more to look forward to for all of us, even for those who feel elation on a rather regular basis. As Abraham say “you can’t get it wrong and you will never get it done”. The earlier we realize this, the sooner we start having more fun. It’s all about the journey.
